Marine Weighing Software

Software for WPL R10 scales: WeightControl for logging, statistics and API integration, and the R10 Configuration Panel for service and label design.

Software for R10 scales

A marine scale produces data as well as weights. That data is useful for production totals, sampling records, invoices and control, but only if it is logged reliably and can be moved to other systems. WPL offers two software products for its R10-based scales, each for a different user.

WeightControl for daily operation

WeightControl runs inside the R10 scale, so no PC or server is needed: connect a laptop or tablet to the scale's access point and open a browser. Installed as an external application, it manages multiple scales from one system. Every weighing is logged automatically, and the statistics dashboard shows weights per preset and period. Logs can be viewed and downloaded as PDF, exported as CSV, or retrieved in JSON through the API, which also provides live weight, stability and commands such as Zero, Print and Tare. See weighing data logging and connecting a scale through an API.

R10 Configuration Panel for service

The R10 Configuration Panel is the tool for calibration, maintenance, diagnostics and backup. It gives access to settings such as rounding, capacity, stability count, display speed and marine filtering, manages presets and logs, and lets you design labels in ZPL with a preview before uploading them to the printer via USB. Advanced settings should only be adjusted by trained personnel. Background: calibration and verification of marine scales.

Connecting scales to your systems

Choosing between CSV export, an API and a direct serial or network link depends on what the receiving system expects. Scale interfaces: RS232, Ethernet, USB and Bluetooth compares the options, and the data integration hub brings together all related articles.

FAQ

What is the difference between WeightControl and the R10 Configuration Panel?

WeightControl is for daily operation: it logs every weighing, shows statistics and exports data through PDF, CSV and a JSON API. The R10 Configuration Panel is a service tool for calibration, diagnostics, backup, settings, presets and ZPL label design, used by service providers and trained crew.

Can I integrate a WPL scale with my own software?

Yes. The WeightControl API returns JSON with the current weight, checkweigher status and stability, gives access to presets and logs, and accepts commands such as Zero, Print and Tare. Documentation is included with each model, and further details are available from info@wpl-industries.com.

Do I need to install software on my computer?

No. WeightControl is accessed through a web browser, either from the scale's built-in access point or from an external installation that manages multiple scales. No client software is needed on PCs, laptops or tablets.
