Description
WeightControl Count is a counting module for WeightControl Base. It uses a scale to determine the number of parts from their weight, for production, logistics and warehouse work. Count is an extension: WeightControl Base must already be installed or be ordered at the same time.
Counting by weight
Count calculates the number of pieces from a reference weight, so large quantities can be counted in one weighing instead of by hand. The reference weight can be set in four ways:
- weighing a sample with a known number of pieces;
- entering the reference weight manually;
- selecting an item from the database;
- importing item data from an ERP system.
Multiple decimal places are supported, so very small parts can be counted as well. The scale still determines what is possible; capacity and readability helps with choosing one from the industrial scales range. Count works with precision, counting, laboratory and platform scales of various makes over RS232, USB or a network connection.
Item database and operation
Items are stored with item number, description, reference weight, tare weight and further product parameters, so the reference does not have to be determined again for every job. Operators find an item with the search function or by scanning a barcode, and work on a touchscreen or with a barcode scanner. The interface has a large count display, with a light theme for offices and a dark theme for production areas.
ERP integration through the REST API
Count can be used without integration or be connected to ERP, WMS and production systems through its open REST API. Through the API you can:
- retrieve item data from the ERP system;
- write count results back automatically;
- process production orders;
- register stock movements.

Traceability and typical uses
Each count result can be saved with date and time, operator, item information and a unique ID. Together these records form an audit trail for quality control, process management and stock control. Barcode scanners, label printers and report printers can be connected. Typical uses are counting screws and fasteners, electronic components and production parts, order picking, stock checks, batch verification and packing.
