Description
WeightControl Base is WPL Industries' weighing software for industrial scales, installed on a Windows PC or tablet. It gives an existing scale a large weight display, target weighing, a central database and user management, and it is the platform on which the WeightControl modules for counting, recipe weighing, SQC and in/out weighing are built.
Connecting your scales
The software can be linked to industrial scales of various makes and types, including precision balances, laboratory balances, counting scales and industrial platform scales. Communication runs over standard interfaces: RS232, USB or a network connection, so companies can keep using the scales they already have. Several scales can also work within one workflow, for example a precision balance for small quantities next to a platform scale for heavier items. Weighing functions
- Weight display: a large readout in g, kg, lb, oz or ct.
- Dosing: set a target weight and tolerance; a bar indicator guides the operator, with a visual and audible signal when the target is reached.
- Percentage weighing: the load is shown as a percentage of a reference value, entered by hand or taken from a weighing. Yellow means below target, green within tolerance, red outside tolerance.
- Totalising: several weighings are added to one total for recipes, batches, pallets or multiple containers. Each weighing stays visible and can be stored with an item name, batch number or ID.
Data, users and peripherals
Measurement data and master data such as products, components, users and process data are kept in a central database on the PC or tablet. Master data can be copied to other devices by USB or synchronised automatically over the network. Roles and access rights link each record to a user, which supports traceability and process control. Barcode scanners, label printers and report printers can be connected alongside the scales.
When used with verified scales, weighing records can be stored and archived for applications with legal record-keeping requirements.
Modules and the WeightControl family
Start with Base and add modules when you need them: WeightControl Count, WeightControl Formula, WeightControl SQC and WeightControl InOut. Each of these modules requires Base. Base belongs to the same software family as WeightControl for marine scales, where the software runs inside the R10 scale itself. All modules are listed under industrial software.
